Getting started
- Search Apple Music for a song you like, then select it to find tracks with a similar BPM.
- Switch between Popular, Similar, For You, and Random. Change the BPM tolerance to broaden or narrow the results.
- Play a result or save it to an editable Apple Music playlist. Random shows one track at a time; use Next to discover another.
Frequently asked questions
Why is a song’s BPM unavailable?
BPM comes from ReccoBeats and is not available for every recording. TempoMatch only displays a BPM when it can match usable data to the recording. Try another version of the song or another track. A remix or live version may have a different tempo.
Why are there few or no results?
Available results depend on the BPM range, music catalog, and available tempo data. Increase the tolerance or choose another source song. Songs by the source song’s artist are intentionally excluded. Chart rankings apply to the charts used for discovery, not a single global popularity ranking.
Why won’t a song play?
Full playback requires an active Apple Music subscription and permission to access Media & Apple Music. Check the permission for TempoMatch in your device Settings, your network connection, and whether the track plays in Apple Music. Tracks may be unavailable in your Apple Music country or region.
How do I save a song to Apple Music?
Open the song’s playlist action, then choose an editable playlist or create a new one. Allow Apple Music access when requested. An in-app favorite is stored in TempoMatch and is separate from adding a song to an Apple Music playlist.
How do language and region settings work?
Choose English or Japanese in Settings. Discovery region controls the charts used to find candidates. Automatic uses the selected song’s genre information. Random explores several countries; playback still depends on availability in your Apple Music catalog.
How do I delete my saved data?
Open Settings and choose Delete all app data, then confirm. This removes TempoMatch favorites, search history, and cached tempo data. Language and region preferences remain. Apple Music songs and playlists are not deleted; manage those in Apple Music. To clear only search history, use Clear history on the History screen.
Does TempoMatch have a subscription?
TempoMatch is a one-time paid app with no in-app purchases or advertising. An Apple Music subscription is separate and is not included in the app purchase. Apple handles App Store billing and refund requests.
