YOUR DATA

TempoMatch Privacy Policy

This policy explains how TempoMatch uses information to find songs with a similar tempo, play music, and save songs to Apple Music.

Effective date: September 11, 2026

1. Information on your device

TempoMatch stores in-app favorites, recent search selections, language and discovery-region preferences, and cached song and tempo information on your device. These support history, recommendations, and faster lookups. The app does not create a TempoMatch account or sync this data to a developer-operated server.

Personalized ranking uses your in-app favorites and recent selections. Artist names from those selections may be sent to Apple Music to look up related candidates, as described below. On-device storage may be included in device backups according to your Apple settings.

2. Apple Music and App Store

With your permission, TempoMatch uses Apple’s MusicKit and Apple Music services to search the catalog, retrieve charts and song metadata, play music, and access editable playlists. Search terms, artist names, recording identifiers, country or region, and music requests are processed by Apple as needed to provide these features.

When you choose to create a playlist or add a song, TempoMatch sends the playlist name or identifier and song information to Apple Music. App Store purchases and payments are handled by Apple. TempoMatch does not obtain your Apple Account password or payment-card details. Apple’s processing is governed by Apple’s privacy policy.

3. BPM and recommendations from ReccoBeats

TempoMatch sends recording identifiers (ISRCs) and ReccoBeats track identifiers to ReccoBeats to retrieve BPM, audio features, and related tracks. Requests may represent the song you selected and candidate songs. They are sent directly from your device over HTTPS; the service receives the connection’s IP address and normal request metadata.

TempoMatch does not send audio recordings, Apple Music authentication tokens, your email address, or an account profile to ReccoBeats. Retrieved results are cached locally and refreshed after approximately seven days when used. The service’s own handling of requests is separate from TempoMatch; see ReccoBeats service information.

4. Advertising, tracking, and permissions

TempoMatch contains no advertising SDK, external analytics SDK, or cross-app advertising tracking. We do not sell personal information. The app does not request access to your microphone, contacts, location, or Health data. Music access can be changed in your device Settings.

5. Deletion and retention

In TempoMatch, use Settings → Delete all app data to remove in-app favorites, search history, and cached tempo data. Language and region preferences remain until changed or the app is deleted. Clear history removes search history only. Removing TempoMatch from your device removes its local app container; backups are managed separately through Apple.

Deleting TempoMatch data does not delete songs or playlists in Apple Music, Apple’s purchase history, or information independently held by service providers. Manage Apple Music data in Apple Music and use the relevant provider’s privacy controls for their records.

6. Support messages and this website

If you email support, we receive your email address and any details or attachments you choose to send. We use them to answer your request and investigate the issue, and retain the correspondence for that purpose or where required by law. You may request deletion through the same address. Email is processed by our email provider.

This support website has no analytics, advertising scripts, or contact-submission form. Its hosting and delivery providers process technical connection information, such as IP addresses and requested pages, to deliver and protect the site.

7. Changes and contact

We may update this policy when the app or its data handling changes. The effective date above identifies the current policy.
